[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Kim Jaemu, a preliminary candidate for mayor of Gwangyang from the Democratic Party of Korea, pledged on the 25th, "I will actively support local small business owners by attracting the Small Enterprise and Market Service Gwangyang Center."
Currently, this center is only established in three areas in Jeonnam: Yeosu, Suncheon, and Mokpo. The plan is to attract the center to the Gwangyang area so that small business owners and self-employed individuals can receive practical benefits.
In a press release on the same day, Candidate Kim stated, "If we attract this quasi-governmental institution to our region, it will greatly contribute to revitalizing small business owners and traditional market commercial districts."
At this center, new business ideas that respond to the latest trends are discovered and disseminated, and theoretical and practical training necessary for business is provided to support prospective entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Additionally, both prospective and existing business operators can apply for training, and upon completion, they become eligible for recommendations for small business policy fund support or new business support.
He expressed expectations, saying, "From startup to growth and recovery, a cyclical support structure will be established, serving as another sustainable pillar of success for our region."
He also promised, "We plan to support monthly rent for small business owners renting buildings and expand support for related facilities."
Candidate Kim said, "Through the center, various customized services such as administrative and legal services will be provided," adding, "I want to lighten the burden on small business owners who have been hit hard by COVID-19."
