82% Pass Rate in National Certification Exam! ... Most Students of Fire Safety Management Department at Gyeongnam Jeongbodae Pass Fire Equipment Industrial Engineer Test

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] In the national certification exam for Fire Protection Equipment Industrial Engineer held in March 2022, 82% of enrolled students passed the first written exam.

Eligibility to take the Fire Protection Equipment Industrial Engineer exam requires being a prospective graduate of a fire-related department.

The Fire Safety Management Department at Gyeongnam Information University, established in 2020, showed an 82% pass rate among second-year students in the first exam held in March.

Among the successful students, eight passed two or more national certification exams, including Fire Protection Equipment Industrial Engineer in the electrical and mechanical fields, Industrial Safety Engineer, and Hazardous Materials Technician.

The Fire Safety Management Department at Gyeongnam Information University operates regular preparation classes for national certifications and civil service exams, aiming for students to obtain two or more certifications by graduation, with tailored individual guidance from faculty advisors.

The successful candidates prepared for the national certification exams solely through department classes and separate extracurricular preparation programs without attending external academies.

Student Won Juhwan from Gyeongnam Information University said, “Participating in department classes and the separate national certification acquisition class led by professors gave me confidence to challenge obtaining three certifications,” adding, “I plan to prepare diligently to pass the practical exam in early May on the first try.”

Student Won Juhwan simultaneously passed the first stage of three certifications: Fire Protection Equipment Industrial Engineer in electrical and mechanical fields, and Hazardous Materials Technician.

The Fire Protection Equipment Industrial Engineer exam is held three times a year, and according to the Korea Industrial Human Resources Corporation Q-net, the pass rate for the written exam has recently been about 45% each time.
