[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 25th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has started donating and collecting historical materials to preserve and utilize Damyang's historical records by gathering historical materials that can gauge Damyang's history and its era background.

The collection targets all historical materials related to Damyang, including photos, videos, documents, and books. Any materials that reflect the daily lives and appearances of residents, the changes in our region held by local government offices and related institutions, and materials filled with memories are all acceptable.

Donated historical materials will be digitized, and the originals will be returned to the owners as a principle; however, if original submission is possible, originals can also be submitted.

The donated materials will be used for public purposes such as exhibitions at the Damyang History Museum in the future and will be preserved and managed as valuable historical records of Damyang.

Collections are ongoing throughout the year, and those wishing to donate historical materials can inquire or visit the Damyang-gun Cultural and Sports Division or the nearest eup/myeon office.

A county official said, “Through the collection of Damyang historical materials, we aim to awaken the dormant past of Damyang and create a connection channel with future generations,” adding, “We ask for much interest and participation in the collection of historical materials, which will be the foundation for the flourishing of local culture.”
