[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, was selected as an excellent government innovation institution for four consecutive years for the first time in the region, receiving the Prime Minister's Award along with a special grant of 80 million won.
On the 25th, Ulju-gun received this award in the '2021 Local Government Innovation Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This award is given by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety every year to select and commend excellent institutions by evaluating the innovation efforts and achievements of metropolitan and basic local governments nationwide.
The '2021 Innovation Evaluation' was conducted on 14 indicators across five categories: institutional autonomous innovation, participation and cooperation, inclusive administration, trusted government, innovation diffusion, and public perception.
For fairness and objectivity, the evaluation is conducted by a local government innovation evaluation team composed of private experts and a public evaluation team composed of ordinary citizens.
The county received excellent scores in all indicators, including activation of resident participation and efforts to strengthen social values. In particular, County Governor Lee Seon-ho's innovation leadership was also highly evaluated.
With this award, Ulju-gun is the only district in Ulsan to be selected as an excellent institution in the innovation evaluation for four consecutive years, and also received a special grant of 80 million won.
Governor Lee Seon-ho said, "I believe the result of continuous communication and innovation efforts to solve local problems and improve residents' welfare has led to the good outcome of receiving the Prime Minister's Award," adding, "We will continue to discover more innovative policies for residents and achieve innovation results that residents can feel."
