Gyeonggi-do Ga (Do-ga) 'Rest in Gyeonggi-do' to be Released on the 26th

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will unveil a new Gyeonggi Province song, "Rest in Gyeonggi," on the 26th.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that the new Gyeonggi Province song (Gyeonggi Doga), sung by Solar of the girl group Mamamoo, will be released on the Gyeonggi Province website (gg.go.kr) on that day.

Earlier, on the 24th, the province posted a behind-the-scenes interview video about Solar's music production on the provincial government’s YouTube channel. Additionally, a video of the music production process will be uploaded along with the song release.

At the end of 2020, through a public contest among residents, "Rest in Gyeonggi" (lyrics by Kim Ji-hoon, composition by Onong Project) was selected as the new Gyeonggi Province song.

The province explained that it planned a collaboration with RBW Entertainment, Mamamoo Solar’s agency, to increase residents' familiarity with the provincial song and to support residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

In an interview with Gyeonggi Province, Solar said, "I was surprised because I liked the song when I first heard it," and shared her thoughts, "I felt very healed while singing the song."
