[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Uniqlo announced on the 25th that it will hold a photo exhibition at Uniqlo Sinsa Store and Lotte World Mall Store in collaboration with Korea's leading fashion photographers Sangmi Ahn, Gigon Kwak, and Jaehun Kim.
Under the theme "T-Shirts, Becoming a Colorful Collection of Everyday Life," this exhibition features Uniqlo t-shirts infused into artworks through the unique perspectives of the three photographers, capturing contemporary aesthetics and everyday contexts under the concept that t-shirts can shine and become beautiful works in ordinary daily life.
Sangmi Ahn, who has collaborated with prominent magazines, expressed t-shirts as items beyond simple functional tools worn in workspaces. Under the theme "T-Shirts as Workwear," she captured photos of crews working in places requiring inspiration and collaboration such as art, fashion, and dining.
Gigon Kwak, active in the United States, photographed dynamic skateboarders showcasing their skills at Venice Beach, LA, under the theme "T-Shirts on the Move." The extreme actions unique to skateboarding combined with the silhouette of oversized crew neck t-shirts express dynamic yet free movements through the artwork.
Jaehun Kim of the young creative artist group "Studio Concrete" brought out the artistic persona of t-shirts under the theme "T-Shirts and Everyday Objects." To do this, he used Uniqlo's creative director Christopher Lemaire's designed U Crew Neck T as an object alongside everyday urban objects, showing the uniqueness and modernity of items through the artist's sharp perspective.
