[Asia Economy Reporters Kim Hyemin and Moon Jewon] President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol will visit the headquarters of SK Bioscience in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province on the 25th to encourage the developers of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Baek Hyunjin, spokesperson for the president-elect, held a regular briefing at the transition committee office in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the same day and stated, "Choi Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, is scheduled to welcome President-elect Yoon."
Spokesperson Baek added, "President-elect Yoon plans to tour the site of the first domestically developed vaccine and encourage the developers who are working with a sense of mission to secure vaccine sovereignty," and "The newly inaugurated Yoon Seok-yeol administration will take a deep interest in and do its best in all matters to protect the lives and safety of the people."
President-elect Yoon also visited the SK Bioscience production plant located in Andong, Gyeongbuk, in September last year.
This will be the third meeting between President-elect Yoon and Chairman Choi. Chairman Choi, who serves as the chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met with President-elect Yoon at the meeting of the heads of six economic organizations on the 21st of last month and at the 2030 Busan World Expo bid support event held at the Busan Chamber of Commerce on the 22nd.
