[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Win-Win Growth Committee announced on the 25th the recruitment of participating companies for a project aimed at strengthening ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) response capabilities in the supply chain between large and small-to-medium enterprises.
The target participants for the '2022 Partner Company ESG Support Project' are domestic large enterprises, mid-sized companies, and public institutions (participating companies), and recruitment will proceed on an ongoing basis starting today.
This project comprehensively supports ESG education and on-site inspections (consulting) for partner small and medium enterprises of the participating companies. This year, the SME ESG standard guidelines have been revised to incorporate Korean-style ESG indicators and related laws such as the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
Partner companies with excellent compliance rates for ESG indicators will be supported with the Win-Win Growth Committee's official 'ESG Excellent SME Certificate' along with assistance in publishing ESG reports.
Last year, the Win-Win Growth Committee signed agreements with 11 participating companies and provided ESG education, capability diagnosis, and consulting to 258 partner companies.
This year, a public-private ESG cooperation system will be established to link with related institutions' SME ESG support projects. Through consultations with government ministries, additional incentives such as preferential treatment for participation in export support projects and research and development (R&D) projects will also be prepared.
Companies wishing to participate in the project can check the announcement and application forms on the Win-Win Growth Committee's website notice board.
