[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Jeong Jin-seok, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly from the People Power Party, stated on the 23rd, "President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol recognizes that the worst state of Korea-Japan relations cannot be allowed to continue and that restoring and improving these relations is in our national interest."


Deputy Speaker Jeong made these remarks while meeting with reporters in front of the transition committee office in Tongui-dong on the same day. As the head of the Korea-Japan Policy Consultation Delegation for President-elect Yoon, Jeong plans to visit Japan from the 24th to the 28th to meet with officials from the Japanese government, National Diet, and business circles.


Deputy Speaker Jeong said, "The position of President-elect Yoon is that efforts should be made toward mutual benefits for both countries and to pursue a future cooperative relationship."
