Shooting Incident in Broad Daylight in Washington DC... 4 Injured, Suspect Dead

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] A shooting incident occurred in the northwest area of Washington DC on the 22nd (local time) in broad daylight. Four people, including one child, were injured by gunfire.

According to CNN and others, Robert Conti, Chief of the Washington DC Police Department, stated in a briefing, "The suspect believed to be responsible for the shooting has died," adding, "When officers opened the apartment door and raided the scene, it appears he took his own life."

Around 3:20 PM that day, multiple gunshots rang out near Connecticut Avenue in the northwest area of Washington DC. The police explained that the suspect seemed to have fired randomly from an apartment upstairs toward the street.

Among the injured, three are receiving treatment at the hospital, with two in critical condition. The police found a man in his 50s, two men in their 30s, and a 12-year-old child with gunshot wounds at the scene and transported them to the hospital. A woman in her 60s suffered abrasions but did not go to the hospital.

Samuel Nicoli, a student living nearby, told CNN in an interview that he heard about 20 gunshots. He said, "After firing five shots, there was about a one-minute pause, then four or five shots were fired before the gunfire stopped."

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Raymond Spencer from Fairfax, Virginia. Police stated that the suspect posted a video showing himself shooting in the community.

The police recovered six firearms, including rifles and handguns believed to have been used by the suspect, along with several rounds of ammunition, from the apartment where the suspect died. Authorities are also investigating whether bullets fired about 0.5 miles from the shooting site are related to this incident.
