Startup Sanctuary Changsin University to Establish 'Startup Incubation Center'

Gyeongnam Changwon City and Changshin University have signed an agreement to establish and operate a startup incubation center.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon City, Gyeongnam, signed a business agreement with Changshin University on the 21st to establish and operate a startup incubation center.

The Changshin University Startup Incubation Center is planned to be created using the entire 929.7㎡ of the 5th floor of the Comprehensive Building (Building 3) on campus, with 15 rooms designated as company office spaces.

It will operate as specialized research and practice rooms in the fields of ICT, aerospace machinery, and healthcare, and plans to apply for new designation by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in June.

Changshin University will support the growth of resident companies and the creation of youth jobs through education and mentoring necessary for discovering creative talents and advancing business management and technology, as well as commercialization and R&D development.

The city will provide administrative and financial support necessary for establishing the startup incubation center and offer opportunities to participate in support projects at each startup stage, such as IR pitching, domestic and international marketing, and startup fund management for resident companies.

Mayor Heo Seong-mu said, “Fostering startups is directly linked to the future of Changwon Special City,” adding, “We will do our best to help the Changshin University Startup Incubation Center become a hub for startups that activate smart convergence industries and create many youth jobs.”
