[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangsan Fire Station in Gwangju will conduct special mountain rescue training for rescue personnel three times between the 18th and 26th around the Eodeungsan area.

The main focus of the training is on rapid initial search at the accident location, rope rescue techniques, and safe transport activities for hikers in preparation for slips, falls, and isolation incidents.

Shin Saeng-gyun, head of the 119 Disaster Response Division, said, "Unlike general accidents, mountain accidents make it difficult for rescue personnel to quickly access the site, which can lead to missing the golden time for rescue." He added, "For safe hiking, it is important to check weather information in advance, use safety equipment suitable for hiking, and choose climbing courses that match one's physical condition."
