[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hyundai Department Store announced on the 21st that from the 30th of this month to June 8th, it will hold the "I AM GROUND" exhibition showcasing artworks by promising domestic artists at ALT.1, a complex cultural space on the 6th floor of The Hyundai Seoul.
ALT.1, which opened in February last year, has attracted over 300,000 visitors by presenting works of internationally renowned artists such as "Andy Warhol: Beginning Seoul" and "Teresa Freitas Exhibition."
This exhibition is a contemporary art special exhibition commemorating the first anniversary of ALT.1's opening, featuring about 70 works including paintings, installation art, and media art by five promising domestic artists.
The participating artists include installation artist Choi Seong-im, Yoon Hyang-ro known for his pseudo-painting (abstract painting through digital media) series, artist Min Jun-hong who is active in both London and Seoul, ZiBEZI who gained attention for his self-portrait in the film "Parasite," and media art lab Team Node. Representative works include Choi Seong-im's "Golden Blanket" and Yoon Hyang-ro's "Canvas Series."
Tickets for the exhibition can be reserved from the 21st on Naver's website and mobile application, and admission is free. To ensure a high-quality exhibition, the art consulting and management company "Art Blending" participated in the planning, and LG Electronics provided OLED TVs free of charge.
A Hyundai Department Store official said, "We wanted to offer comfort and happiness to customers through artworks by artists living in the same era, rather than artworks from artists in history that they have never experienced," adding, "We plan to continuously present top-level exhibitions through ALT.1 at The Hyundai Seoul."
