[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyeok] On the 21st, Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced that it is recruiting the 15th class of the '2022 Organic Agriculture University' to cultivate core agricultural personnel with creative capabilities for sustainable agricultural development.

Since 2008, Naju City's Organic Agriculture University has been aimed at fostering professional farmers leading local agriculture through customized theory and practical education focused on farming sites and demand, including crop-specific cultivation techniques, distribution prospects, and management tips.

The 15th class consists of two courses: the 'Youth Startup Class' (20 people) and the 'Fruit Tree Pruning Class' (20 people), focusing on the stable settlement of young farmers and efficient management of fruit trees.

The Youth Startup Class helps young farmers strengthen their management capabilities and establish rational farming plans for startups through topics such as 'How to write a startup life roadmap goal,' 'Writing 1st to 3rd business models and idea discovery,' and 'Distribution and marketing strategies.'

It will be held a total of 12 times from next month until August 11 at the Agricultural Technology Center Education Hall for young farmers aged 18 to under 40 who are currently farming or interested in agriculture.

Meanwhile, the Fruit Tree Pruning Class focuses on practical training to acquire fruit tree pest prevention and pruning techniques.

Under the guidance of fruit tree pruning experts, sessions such as 'Winter fruit tree management and pruning,' 'Fruit tree physiology and cultivation techniques,' 'Pest management methods,' and 'Summer and winter pruning practice' will be conducted.

The education will be held a total of 15 times (every Tuesday and Thursday) from June to the end of November at the Agricultural Technology Center Education Hall and farming sites.

Applications for students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis from the 25th of this month to the 4th of next month.

Applicants should fill out the application form and other required documents posted on the city hall website during the application period and submit them to the Rural Development Division of the Agricultural Technology Center.

The announcement of successful candidates is scheduled for the 11th of next month.

Cho Seong-eun, director of Naju Agricultural Technology Center, said, "Following the phased recovery of daily life from COVID-19, this Organic Agriculture University is organized mainly around field practice," adding, "We will establish a virtuous cycle agricultural system for safe food production, acquisition of new technologies, and income generation through the cultivation of future agricultural personnel."
