[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 21st that it distributed a total of 135,000 masks, 5 masks per person, to each eup and myeon to prevent further spread of COVID-19 among all residents.
This mask support for all residents is a proactive response to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in line with the phased return to normal life following the government's lifting of social distancing measures.
The county has carried out this support project for the seventh time, starting from April 2020 when the mask shortage occurred, with three rounds in 2020, three rounds in 2021, and now this round.
The masks will be delivered to each eup and myeon office, sorted, and then directly distributed to residents through village staff and village chiefs.
The county has been making every effort to protect residents from COVID-19 by distributing masks to all residents, implementing thorough quarantine measures, and operating vaccination centers without disruption.
Especially earlier this year, when COVID-19 cases were rapidly increasing nationwide and the spread of the Omicron variant was intensifying, the county urgently secured 30,000 self-diagnosis kits and provided them to all residents to proactively respond to community infection spread.
Additionally, to revitalize the local economy, the county has implemented special policies suited to local conditions, such as disaster basic income support, Imsil-type disaster relief payments for low-income households during holidays, support for small business owners and transportation workers, and promotion of agricultural specialty products.
A county official said, “Until herd immunity is formed through vaccination, the most certain prevention against COVID-19 is wearing masks,” and added, “We ask everyone to make wearing masks indoors and outdoors a daily habit and to strictly follow individual quarantine rules to actively participate in protecting the safety of family and neighbors.”
