[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] The Jangseong Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief Bae Seung-gwan) announced on the 21st that it conducted a 'Traffic Safety Campaign' to create an atmosphere to eradicate drunk driving and raise drivers' awareness.

About 30 people, including police officers and members of the Model Drivers Association, participated in the campaign that day.

With the lifting of social distancing and private gathering restrictions, concerns about an increase in drunk driving are high, so Jangseong Police carried out promotional activities as a preemptive preventive measure, urging people not to bring vehicles to drinking gatherings from the start and to use public transportation or designated drivers after drinking.

They are conducting visible crackdowns by utilizing available personnel and equipment to instill the awareness that drunk driving will definitely be caught.

A Jangseong Police official said, "Drunk driving is a serious crime that can take not only one's own life but also the lives of others," and added, "We ask for drivers' cooperation and will continue efforts to eradicate drunk driving through ongoing promotion and crackdowns."
