[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 21st that it will create the Yaho Energy Playground on top of the Hyoja Reservoir, where children can learn about and experience energy.
The Yaho Energy Playground, which will be completed on the 28th, was created to raise awareness of the importance of renewable energy and promote energy transition awareness in connection with the first citizen solar power plant (99 kW) established in 2019.
Jeonju City invested a total project cost of 200 million KRW to install eight play facilities on approximately 2,000㎡ of land, including a rotating stage utilizing kinetic energy, a basket swing based on the principle of action and reaction, and a self-generating play structure that converts kinetic energy into electricity for hands-on experience.
With the nearby forest playground 'Ttegurureu Solbangul Forest' and the citizen solar power plant, Jeonju City expects this area to be used as a learning space where energy and environmental protection can be experienced through play.
