[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 21st that Professor Lim Seong-eun of Seokyeong University will be inaugurated as the 2nd Director of the Seoul Institute of Technology. The new director Lim will also serve as the president of SeTTA (Seoul Think Tank Association).
Director Lim, an expert in urban policy with a Ph.D. in Urban Administration, has extensive insight into overall Seoul city administration and has consistently conducted interdisciplinary research on housing, transportation, environment, and climate change policies. She has experience in policy research (University of Seoul, Seokyeong University), policy implementation (Korea Rail Network Authority), policy auditing (National Assembly), and policy formulation (Seoul City) in the fields of land, transportation, and environment.
During her tenure at Seoul City, she proposed long-term lease housing, the 120 Dasan Call Center, and the small bus Tayo, and published books such as "Seoul Public Administration" and "Long-term Lease Housing." Since last year, through research on strengthening collaboration between Seoul City and its affiliated research functions, she has raised the necessity of linkage and convergence research among about 200 Ph.D. researchers in Seoul City's affiliated research organizations and presented a new cooperation model centered on SeTTA (Seoul Think Tank Association).
Seoul City explained, "With the inauguration of the 2nd new director of the Seoul Institute of Technology, we expect it to establish itself as a core institution for scientific and technological policy research to solve Seoul's urban problems."
