[Asia Economy Reporters Hyunju Lee and Hyunji Kwon] The People Power Party announced that it has recommended lawmakers Sangbeom Yoo, Juhye Jeon, and Sujin Jo as agenda adjustment committee members of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee regarding the so-called 'complete prosecution reform' bill review. Although the People Power Party is entitled to two seats on the Legislation and Judiciary Committee's agenda adjustment committee, this move is a protest against Min Hyungbae's attempt to participate in the committee as an independent after leaving the Democratic Party of Korea.

Yoo, the opposition party's floor leader on the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, told reporters on the 21st, "The original intent of forming the agenda adjustment committee is to uphold the principle that the majority party should not unilaterally pass controversial bills and to reflect the opinions of the minority party, embodying the spirit of cooperation and compromise."

Yoo added, "The Democratic Party has undermined the purpose of the agenda adjustment committee by orchestrating Min's disguised resignation and making him an independent, and there is a move to exclude lawmaker Hyangja Yang, who opposes the complete prosecution reform. Since this damages the spirit of the agenda adjustment committee, the People Power Party has recommended three members," he explained.

Yoo made two requests to Park Kwangon, chairman of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee. He said, "The subcommittee only discussed the unconstitutionality of Article 4 of the Prosecutors' Office Act during the complete prosecution reform legislation, but by unilaterally referring it to the agenda adjustment committee, the spirit of the subcommittee was completely undermined. Since the agenda adjustment committee is currently a matter for the National Assembly Speaker to mediate, discussions should take place after the mediation proposal is prepared," he stated.
