[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] McDonald's announced on the 21st that it will launch two new 'McMorning' menu items.
The new menu items are the 'Bacon Tomato Egg Soft Bun' and the 'Sausage Tomato Egg Soft Bun.' For the first time in 16 years since the launch of McMorning, a 'soft bun' is used instead of an 'English muffin.' The soft bun is steamed rather than toasted, offering an upgraded softness as its main feature. Additionally, it includes soft and warm eggs, crunchy lettuce, tomato, and either bacon or sausage patties, creating a perfect balance of taste and nutrition for breakfast.
McMorning, the breakfast menu first introduced by McDonald's in 2006 as an industry pioneer, has become synonymous with breakfast for busy modern people by offering not only taste and nutrition but also speed, convenience, and cost-effectiveness. McDonald's breakfast menu, which holds an overwhelming number one market share in the industry, sells over 20 million units annually and continues to show steady growth every year.
To celebrate the launch of the new menu, McDonald's will hold an event on the 22nd from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM where the first 100 customers (per store) who visit and order the menu will receive fresh domestically grown tomatoes, which are actually used by McDonald's, packaged specially as a gift. Some stores, such as those in rest areas, are excluded.
From the 28th to the 1st of next month, an event will also be held where customers who purchase McMorning menu items will receive 'McMorning stickers.' The stickers come in a set of 11 types and feature fun phrases such as 'Don't put off today's McMorning until tomorrow!' and 'The early bird eats McMorning!' along with cute illustrations.
