원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] LG Display's organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is receiving high praise from global film production companies, supporting the creation of high-quality video content.
On the 21st, LG Display announced that it will conduct a joint promotion highlighting the excellent picture quality of OLED TVs in conjunction with the release of the new Star Wars series drama, "The Book of Boba Fett," by Walt Disney. Following Lucasfilm, the Star Wars production company, using OLED TVs in the production of the new drama, the promotion aims to emphasize that viewers can fully enjoy the content as intended by the creators at home with OLED TVs.
In a YouTube video released by LG Display on the same day, Lucasfilm introduced that both producers and viewers strive to watch the same image, and to achieve this, OLED TVs that deliver accurate picture quality are commonly used in studios worldwide.
Jeroen Scholte, Senior Colorist at Lucasfilm, praised, "OLED TVs are deeply integrated into almost every stage of content production, from real-time shooting using virtual backgrounds, visual effects work, to post-editing," adding, "OLED TVs are displays that perfectly realize the creators' dreams."
Global film production companies under Walt Disney, such as Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm, have been expanding the use of OLED TVs in editing work for years to produce high-quality videos. They are evaluated as optimal professional displays for video experts, accurately reproducing the original visual beauty without distortion or exaggeration.
Meanwhile, LG Display, in collaboration with Lucasfilm's special effects company 'ILM,' has produced a 30-second OLED TV promotional video featuring the protagonist of the new drama, which will be showcased on LG Electronics' billboard in New York's Times Square until the 20th of next month.
Jin Min-kyu, head of Life Display Promotion at LG Display, stated, "Through collaboration with Disney, we have been able to present high-quality works to Star Wars fans worldwide," adding, "The emotions of Disney content completed with LG Display technology can be fully enjoyed at home with OLED TVs."
