[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu City will operate Climate Change Week from the 22nd to the 28th in celebration of the 51st Earth Day.

Marking its 14th year, Climate Change Week is held for one week starting from Earth Day on the 22nd to raise awareness of the seriousness of climate change and to encourage citizens' participation in green living.

This year’s Climate Change Week, under the theme "Action for the Earth: Right Now, Starting with Me!", will see cooperation between eight districts and counties, the Daegu Climate and Environment Network, Daegu Shinsegae Department Store, and other public and private organizations to promote carbon-neutral lifestyle practices.

On Earth Day, the 22nd, from 8 PM for 10 minutes, a lights-out event will take place involving Daegu’s public institutions, The Arc, Dalseongbo, the Shincheon and Geumhogang Overpass on Line 3, the Opera House, and 13 carbon-neutral practice apartment complexes.

Additionally, on the Climate Action website, all Daegu citizens can participate in carbon-neutral quizzes, action certification, and hashtag events.

From the 22nd until the 11th of next month, the "Daegu Olle" and "Eco Bike" apps will also host the "Daegu, Let’s Walk!" event for 20 days.

Hong Seong-ju, Director of Daegu City’s Green Environment Bureau, said, “We hope many citizens will participate so that this Climate Change Week becomes an opportunity to raise awareness of climate change and build consensus on the necessity of carbon neutrality.”
