[Asia Economy Reporter Junyi Park] Min Hyung-bae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, has left the party to pursue the so-called 'Geomsu Wanbak' (complete removal of prosecutorial investigation rights) legislation.

According to the National Assembly on the 20th, it was confirmed that Min resigned from the Democratic Party on the same day.

He is expected to participate in the review of bills at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee as an independent member.

Previously, Yang Hyang-ja, an independent member who was reassigned to the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, was reported to oppose the legislation the day before, making it difficult to pass the agenda adjustment committee in the future. Therefore, it is interpreted that Min took the bold step of acting as an independent member in place of Yang.
