The progress report was conducted at an expanded operations committee meeting attended by Hospital Director Kim Kyung-jong, the executive team, and heads of each department.

Starting with an explanation of the definition of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and its relationship with the Industrial Safety and Health Act, the report covered related departments’ tasks for preventing serious accidents, the hospital’s nine checklists and five inspection items, as well as self-inspection details according to the school corporation checklist.

Additionally, the meeting reviewed the formation of dedicated serious accident response teams at other university hospitals and reported on areas needing improvement such as establishing new organizational structures, expanding personnel, and drafting related manuals. Time was also spent sharing parts that the hospital needs to supplement based on cases of serious accident punishments.

Meanwhile, Chosun University Hospital continues to implement measures to create a safe and healthy workplace, including ▲establishing procedures for identifying and improving hazardous and dangerous factors and conducting regular inspections ▲promoting and educating safety awareness improvements by department ▲checking safety and health personnel, facilities, and equipment. The hospital is doing its utmost to establish a safety and health management system so that patients and their guardians visiting the hospital can receive treatment safely.

The Serious Accidents Punishment Act, enacted on January 27, is a law that strengthens criminal penalties when business owners or management officials neglect safety and health measures, resulting in serious human casualties.
