The CJ AI Center is located in Sinsa Square, spanning a total of four floors, and consists of research labs, office spaces, and an AI showroom. It also includes spaces for external researchers and startups to promote industry-academia cooperation and industry exchange. The center is staffed by about 30 researchers, including the center head, and plans to secure more outstanding talent with AI expertise in the future.
The AI Center is expected to serve as CJ’s AI hub, integrating and managing AI infrastructure and data that had been dispersed across subsidiaries. Additionally, it will play roles such as ▲solving business challenges of subsidiaries using AI ▲activating the AI ecosystem through open collaboration with external expert groups and startups ▲nurturing AI professionals and establishing group digital transformation strategies and education. In particular, leveraging the group’s strength as a lifestyle culture company, it will actively pursue the discovery of new growth engines based on high-quality big data closely related to daily life.
Furthermore, the center plans to contribute to the activation of the AI-based digital innovation ecosystem by engaging in various collaborations with academic expert groups such as Seoul National University AI Institute, UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology), GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology), Chung-Ang University, as well as startups closely related to CJ’s business fields.
