Democratic Party Confirms Candidates for Gimhae, Yangsan, and Jinju Mayoral Primaries

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Democratic Party of Korea's Gyeongnam Provincial Party has selected candidates for the mayoral primaries of Gimhae, Yangsan, and Jinju for the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections.

In the Gimhae mayoral election, former provincial council member Gong Yungeon, former Gyeongnam Provincial Deputy Governor Park Seongho, and current mayor Heo Seonggon are competing for the candidacy.

In the Yangsan mayoral primary, current mayor Kim Ilkwon, Yangsan city council member Park Jaewoo, and Democratic Party Yangsan District Chief Committee Chair Park Jongseo form a three-person race.

For the Jinju mayoral candidate primary, Park Yanghu, an invited professor at Gyeongsang National University, and former Gyeongnam Provincial Deputy Governor Han Gyeongho enter a two-person contest.

The party's nomination management committee conducted the candidate recommendation review according to the party constitution and regulations, and announced the results on the 20th.
