[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Public Procurement Service (PPS) has completed the selection of 60 innovative products and 142 government and institutional bodies that will pilot these products.
On the 20th, the PPS announced on the Innovation Market the results of the "2022 2nd Innovative Product Pilot Purchase Project Demand Linkage."
Among the selected innovative products, 37 are in the safety and welfare sector, the largest number, followed by 13 in the environmental fine dust sector, 6 in the biohealth sector, and 4 in the smart city sector. A notable feature of this selection is the inclusion of many products closely related to citizens' daily lives, such as safety, welfare, and environment.
The pilot-use institutions finalized include 19 government agencies, 67 local governments, and 56 public institutions, which are likely to verify the performance of innovative products and potentially make additional purchases.
Kim Eung-geol, Director of Innovation Procurement Planning at PPS, stated, "The PPS will continue to proactively discover companies with innovative technologies and strive to serve as a bridge to help these companies enter the public procurement market."
Meanwhile, the core of the innovative product pilot purchase project is that the PPS acts as the first user by directly purchasing innovative products and then providing them to government and public institutions for use.
Through this process, the PPS lowers the entry barriers for excellent innovative products into the public procurement market, promotes the purchase of innovative products in the public sector, and feeds back results to companies to support further development.
