[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Kia will showcase the EV6 GT-Line and Niro EV at the largest information and communication technology (ICT) exhibition in Korea.
Kia announced that it will participate in the '2022 World IT Show' held at COEX from the 20th to the 22nd.
Kia plans to exhibit the EV6 GT-Line, an electric vehicle based on the dedicated electric vehicle platform E-GMP, and the new Niro EV, scheduled for release in the first half of this year, actively promoting Kia's globally recognized competitiveness in electric vehicle products.
By creating a smart office space utilizing the V2L (Vehicle to Load) technology installed in the EV6 GT-Line within the exhibition hall, Kia presents a new automotive experience for the electric vehicle era. Additionally, an interactive customer experience video explaining resource recycling processes such as plastic upcycling and battery recycling in an easy-to-understand manner was prepared to demonstrate commitment to sustainability.
Furthermore, various attractions have been prepared, including the display of eco-friendly products such as Napa leather fabric from the eco-friendly manufacturing process applied to the EV6, premium upcycling brand 'Continue', and outdoor specialty brand 'Eider', each collaborated with Kia. A Kia official stated, "Through participation in the 2022 World IT Show, which exhibits the latest trends and future technologies in each field, we will solidify our image as a leading electric vehicle brand," adding, "We will continue to strive to introduce future technologies that meet the increasing customer expectations for mobility."
Meanwhile, the Kia EV6 was crowned '2022 European Car of the Year' and won the Grand Prize in the product design category at the '2022 Red Dot Award', proving the highest level of design completeness and product competitiveness among electric vehicles. It has also been recognized domestically and internationally for its excellent product quality, being selected as the Car of the Year and Electric Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) of the Year at the prestigious British automotive award, the '2022 What Car Awards'.
