[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency is lifting restrictions on the use of public building rental facilities.
The agency announced on the 20th that since the 18th, it has actively worked to secure users for rental facilities by promptly reflecting the lifting of social distancing measures and revising the usage standards for rental facilities.
First, the agency completely abolished the "50% capacity limit per facility" standard, opening the way for unrestricted use of rental facilities regardless of event size. However, indoor dining such as catering will be allowed starting from the 25th after a one-week preparation period to establish safer reopening measures.
The facilities with lifted usage restrictions include a total of 30 rooms: 17 rooms at Pangyo Techno Valley and 13 rooms at Gwanggyo Techno Valley.
Yoo Seung-kyung, director of the agency, said, "We have eased the usage standards for rental facilities to revitalize the local economy, which had been subdued by Omicron," and added, "We expect this measure to serve as a catalyst for revitalizing the stagnant local economy."
