People are touring the KT exhibition hall at the '2022 World IT Show' held at COEX in Seoul.
원본보기 아이콘[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] The 2022 World IT Show, showcasing and allowing hands-on experience with the latest information and communication technology products and services, opened on the 20th. The theme is ‘One-stop platform for digital transformation.’ It provided a venue to explore the digital innovation strategies and sites of leading domestic and international companies in hyper-connected infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, robotics, and more, while also looking ahead to the future.
SK Telecom set up an 870㎡ exhibition hall under the theme of ‘a surreal experience in a world without boundaries between reality and virtuality.’ They showcased ICT technologies such as AI, metaverse, and Urban Air Mobility (UAM). There was also a space to experience their self-developed AI semiconductor ‘Sapeon’ and the ‘Supernova’ application that improves media image quality.
KT introduced the intelligent transportation infrastructure DX solution ‘Traffic Digital Twin.’ This service detects and analyzes traffic conditions via CCTV and guides the optimal signal system. At the ‘AI Contact Center (AICC),’ visitors could experience the ‘AI Call Secretary’ service, which has received positive feedback from small business owners. In a park-themed space, visitors could meet actual moving ‘AI service robots’ and ‘AI quarantine robots.’
Samsung Electronics allowed visitors to experience the latest mobile products such as Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Z Flip3, as well as innovative products like Neo QLED 8K and the Bespoke Infinite Line. LG Electronics provided hands-on experiences with the 88-inch LG Signature OLED 8K, LG StanbyMe, LG Room & TV, LG XBOOM 360 speakers, and LG Tiun. Kia Motors showcased the EV6 and Niro EV, electric vehicles presenting a new concept of mobility.
Cho Kyung-sik, 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, “The 2022 World IT Show is a site of digital transformation where innovative private sector capabilities converge, offering an opportunity to experience innovative ICT products and technologies. We will actively support domestic ICT companies to gain global competitiveness, lead the world market, and help South Korea leap forward as a digital powerhouse.” Meanwhile, the opening ceremony was attended by Kwon Young-se, Vice Chairman of the 20th Presidential Transition Committee, Park Sung-joong, Secretary of the Science and Technology Education Division of the Transition Committee, and Nam Ki-tae, a member of the Science and Technology Education Division.
