[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Retail announced on the 20th that it will launch a planned product called 'Half-Price Superior Hanwoo,' leveraging integrated online and offline purchasing power.
Half-Price Superior Hanwoo is a beef set composed of popular cuts of 1++ grade Hanwoo, sold at a 50% discount off the regular price. It includes 250g each of premium sirloin, upjinsal, bulgogi, and soup cuts, with a total weight of 1kg. It will be available as a pre-order product until the 3rd of next month and can be purchased through online grocery platform GS Fresh Mall, supermarket GS The Fresh, convenience store GS25, The Pop app, and other online and offline channels.
This product is sold simultaneously across GS Retail’s online and offline channels rather than individual distribution channels, which has explosively increased purchase volume and secured price competitiveness. Additionally, efforts to innovate distribution steps have minimized extra costs. Going forward, GS Retail plans to introduce various series focusing on fresh foods such as 'Half-Price Fruits' and 'Half-Price Vegetables.'
A GS Retail official said, "This product was planned as a win-win for consumers, partners, and distributors," adding, "We will focus on launching fresh foods with innovative pricing structures in the future."
