[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 19th, Gwangju Metropolitan City signed an investment agreement for a customer center with Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, at the city hall business room, attended by Jo In-cheol, Vice Mayor of Culture and Economy, Ham Yoon-sik, Vice President of Woowa Brothers, and other related officials.

According to this investment agreement, Woowa Brothers will establish a new customer center with a capacity of 500 seats in Gwangju in May. Gwangju City plans to cooperate for the successful early settlement and operation of the customer center.

In particular, Woowa Brothers plans to prioritize hiring talent from the Gwangju area, expecting to create about 500 new jobs.

Gwangju City expects that the establishment of this customer center will not only create jobs and increase income for local women with career interruptions and youth but also revitalize the local economy by resolving office vacancies in the downtown area and activating surrounding commercial districts.

Song Kwon-chun, Director of Job Policy, said, "During the difficult times caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic for over two years, the investment attraction of Woowa Brothers' customer center is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy," adding, "We will continue to actively promote Gwangju as an attractive city for customer center operations to attract more customer centers and create jobs."

Meanwhile, Gwangju has optimal location conditions for operating customer centers, including low rent and management costs, excellent and abundant human resources, and extensive administrative and financial support, leading to continued investments in new customer centers.

Currently, about 7,200 counselors work at 80 customer centers in fields such as insurance, telecommunications, and finance, playing roles in creating jobs for women and employment.

Going forward, Gwangju City plans to carry out promotional activities targeting companies located in the metropolitan area to attract customer centers and create quality jobs.
