[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] EWK will change its listing to Kaelum on the 19th.
EWK held its regular shareholders' meeting last month and approved the agenda to change its company name to Kaelum. The new name Kaelum has been registered, and the company has applied for the name change listing.
EWK, adopting the name Kaelum which means 'sky,' will actively pursue its aviation business. As a new business, it is engaged in various sectors of the aviation industry, including cargo aircraft conversion (P2F), aviation finance, and aircraft parts manufacturing.
EWK has been selected as the final acquirer of Hana ITM, an aircraft engine parts company. Hana ITM supplies turbine vanes and seals to aviation engine manufacturers such as France's Safran and the United States' General Electric (GE).
A company official stated, "The acquisition of Hana ITM is the cornerstone of our aircraft parts business," and added, "Other aviation businesses, such as cargo aircraft conversion, will also be concretely pursued soon."
He continued, "We will strive to improve our performance through the aviation business."
