[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 19th that it is expanding healing and wellness infrastructure by opening forest healing facilities where people can cultivate emotional well-being and receive therapy in the forest.
The forest healing facilities being established in Jeonbuk Province, including the Healing Forest, aim to provide residents with the energy to recover their daily lives through forest healing. There are a total of six facilities: three public and three national.
Among them, the public forest healing facilities are located in Jangsu, Buan, and Sunchang. Jangsu and Buan have already opened and are in operation, while Sunchang is scheduled to open within this year.
Jangsu-gun Green Healing Forest is located within the Waryong Natural Recreation Forest at the foot of Palgongsan Mountain and features a healing center equipped with a fragrance healing room, health healing room, meditation healing room, and a healing theme forest.
Buan Wido Healing Forest, uniquely located on an island in Korea, opened on April 1 and is currently in pilot operation. It includes a healing center with a health measurement room and healing rooms, as well as a barrier-free deck path of about 400 meters. It provides various health information through health checks, education, and counseling, allowing visitors to experience diverse treatment programs tailored to themselves.
Additionally, Sunchang Yonggwolsan Healing Forest, with the Seomjin River flowing southward and excellent scenic forest healing factors, has developed various forest experience centers and forest trails.
Furthermore, national forest healing facilities being developed by the Korea Forest Service, such as Jinan Jideokwon Forest Healing Center (2018?2024), Gochang Munsusan Cypress Forest Space Recreation Project (2018?2022), and Iksan Healing Forest (2021?2023), are expected to be completed within the next one to two years. These will be spotlighted as tourism resources combining rest, healing, wellness services, and ecological assets.
Meanwhile, Healing Forests are facilities operated and guided by nationally certified forest healing instructors who utilize various environmental elements of the forest to enhance human immunity and promote health through forest healing programs to ensure effective results.
