A man in his 50s falls to death at a Busan apartment construction site... Review of applying the Serious Accident Punishment Act

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] A male worker in his 50s died after falling from the 4th floor at a new apartment construction site in Haeundae, Busan.

According to the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, at around 7:50 a.m. on the 19th, a male worker in his 50s, Mr. A, fell from the 4th floor while working on the exterior wall at a new apartment construction site in U-dong, Haeundae-gu.

Mr. A was riding on a gondola, and the police estimate that the cause of the accident was the hoist, the gondola's connecting cable, breaking.

Mr. A was immediately transported to the hospital after the fall but passed away.

A police official stated, "We are investigating the cause of death with site personnel and colleagues," and added, "We will also review whether to apply the Serious Accident Punishment Act."
