[Asia Economy Reporter Myunghwan Lee] Toss Securities announced on the 19th that it will start a real-time fractional trading service for overseas stocks.
Toss Securities' fractional trading service for overseas stocks allows investment from as little as 1,000 KRW in high-quality U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Unlike bundling fractional orders into whole shares, the service executes trades immediately, enabling the only real-time, delay-free trading in Korea.
The number of investable stocks totals 3,070, the largest selection among fractional overseas stock trading services. All U.S. stocks, exchange-traded products (ETPs), and REITs offered by Toss Securities are available for trading.
Market orders can be placed from 10:30 PM to 4:00 AM the next day (based on daylight saving time) during the U.S. regular trading hours, while orders can be reserved outside these hours. Fractional trading during pre-market and after-market sessions will be introduced sequentially.
Fractional trading works the same way as purchasing whole shares: select 'Amount Order' on the purchase screen of each stock and enter the investment amount. The quantity available for order is displayed according to the entered amount, starting from a minimum of 1,000 KRW. For example, if you order 1,000 KRW worth of Tesla stock priced at about 1.2 million KRW, you will purchase 0.000833 shares.
A Toss Securities representative said, "Toss Securities is the only overseas stock service that offers the widest range of high-quality U.S. stocks and allows the fastest fractional trading." They added, "We will continue to create overwhelming investment services that increase customer satisfaction with a customer-centric mindset."
Toss Securities is also running a 'Receive Fractional Stocks' event for all customers until the end of this month. Customers select their desired U.S. stocks and draw a prize amount ranging from a minimum of 1,000 KRW to a maximum of 10 million KRW, and the winning amount is used to purchase and provide stocks.
