[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Dong-A Pharmaceutical announced on the 19th that its derma cosmetic brand Patheon has won the grand prize at the '2022 iF (International Forum) Design Award,' one of the world's top three design awards.
The iF Design Award is considered one of the world's top three design awards alongside the 'Red Dot Design Award' and 'IDEA (International Design Excellence Awards).' This year, over 11,000 works from 50 countries were submitted.
Patheon applied a label design that excludes post-processing and printing on the container, making it easy to recycle. Instead of chemical ink, it used soybean oil printing packaging and braille notation for the visually impaired, embodying environmental and social values in the product.
Additionally, it received high scores in design, material suitability, and innovation for developing graphic patterns reflecting the derma cosmetic concept and containers considering hygiene and product usability.
A Dong-A Pharmaceutical official said, “We are honored to receive the prestigious iF Design Award globally,” and added, “We will continue to enhance the brand's value and present products that consider consumers.”
