[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Theborn Korea's 'Yeondon Bolkatsu' is expanding into Japan. Yeondon Bolkatsu is a franchise established last year by Yeondon, a domestic pork cutlet restaurant known through SBS's 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant,' together with Baek Jong-won, CEO of Theborn Korea.

On the 17th, Kim Eungseo, president of Yeondon, announced on his Instagram, "Today, ahead of Yeondon Bolkatsu's entry into Japan and the opening of the first store, we conducted a video training session via Zoom."

President Kim said, "When developing with CEO Baek Jong-won, the sole purpose was to promote consumption of less-preferred parts of Korean pork. We worked hard on development, and thanks to the great love from everyone in a short period, we are now expanding overseas. I am very happy, honored, and grateful."

Yeondon Bolkatsu sells ball-shaped mini pork cutlets made from the pork hind leg meat. Currently, it operates more than 10 stores nationwide.

The first store in Japan is reported to be located in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo.
