[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries announced on the 18th that it delivered goods worth approximately 375 million KRW to Gyeongsangbuk-do to support the living conditions of residents affected by the Uljin wildfire through the Agriculture and Fisheries Win-Win Cooperation Fund.


The donations came from 15 companies and organizations, including 138 million KRW from Hyundai Heavy Industries 1% Sharing Foundation, 80 million KRW from Jeil Feed, 67 million KRW from Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, 50 million KRW from Sunjin, and 10 million KRW each from the Housing Management Corporation and Incheon Port Authority.


The delivered goods include 2,863 boxes of daily necessities worth about 50,000 KRW each, 4,496 boxes of agricultural product packages, and 550 boxes of kimchi and noodles, all intended for residents affected by the wildfire.


The Agriculture and Fisheries Win-Win Cooperation Fund was established to mitigate damage to agriculture, fisheries, and rural areas and promote win-win cooperation in accordance with the implementation of Free Trade Agreements (FTA). Over the past five years, 213 companies have contributed a total of 173.5 billion KRW to the fund. Last year, Gyeongsangbuk-do also received 966 million KRW in support from 12 companies through this fund.


Cho Tae-yong, Head of the Agriculture and Fisheries Win-Win Fund Headquarters, expressed, "We convey the sincerity of the Cooperation Foundation and related companies and organizations so that residents affected by the Uljin wildfire can quickly restore their daily lives," offering comfort and hope to the residents.


Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, expressed gratitude, saying, "The warm support from the Cooperation Foundation and the companies and organizations participating in the donation is becoming a source of hope for residents who have lost their homes."
