[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is launching a survey on visitors to major tourist attractions within the province.

The survey on visitors to major tourist attractions has been conducted since 2014, targeting domestic visitors to 50 major tourist sites in the province, including Paju Imjingak, through face-to-face interviews. In January this year, it was upgraded to a nationally approved statistic by the Statistics Korea (No. 210015), gaining greater credibility as reliable data.

To enhance the accuracy of the statistics, a preliminary survey including site visits and on-site verification will be conducted in the third week of April, followed by the main survey for the second quarter in the fourth week of May.

A total of 13,500 domestic visitors to 50 tourist sites in the province will be individually interviewed with 34 questions covering ▲ awareness of traveling in Gyeonggi Province ▲ actual travel behavior in Gyeonggi Province ▲ travel preparation process ▲ travel experience in Gyeonggi Province ▲ travel experience at the specific site ▲ and post-travel evaluation.

The survey results will be announced in March next year. The province plans to continuously improve the quality of the survey by expanding the sample size and survey locations to further enhance the reliability of the statistics.
