Suncheon National University Jeonnam Rural Convergence Industry Support Center Fully Supports HACCP Training Costs for Rural Convergence Industry Certified Businesses

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced on the 18th that the Jeonnam Rural Convergence Industry Support Center (Director Song Kyung-hwan) is accepting applications for HACCP education fee support for rural convergence industry certification businesses until the 20th.

If participants join the regular training (May 18) and team leader training (May 10-11) operated by “Haesop Food Safety Solution,” a local HACCP education specialist institution, they can receive education fee support after selection.

The Jeonnam Rural Convergence Industry Support Center (hereafter Jeonnam 6th Industry Center) has been operating education fee support projects 4 to 6 times annually since 2019.

So far, a total of 179 trainees (25 in 2019, 53 in 2020, 101 in 2021) have benefited from the support, and this year, education fees will be supported for 120 people.

The food safety management certification standard ‘HACCP’ is a hygiene management system that prevents biological, chemical, and physical hazards from contaminating food at each stage from raw material production to final consumption, ensuring food safety through comprehensive hygiene management.

Song Kyung-hwan, director of Jeonnam 6th Industry Center, said, “In the past, policies focused simply on agricultural production, but now we must change to create products that can be trusted and eaten throughout the entire process to the table, including eco-friendly and ESG management,” adding, “Since obtaining HACCP certification to give consumers confidence that products are safely produced is important, the center will actively support education.”

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam 6th Industry Center certifies agricultural management entities that diversify their businesses using local rural resources into processing (secondary) and services (tertiary). As of December 2021, 352 management entities in Jeonnam have received 6th industry certification and benefit from on-site coaching, sales, and distribution support.
