[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Se-ryeong] Gyeongsangnam-do is recruiting 665 'Saeil Women Interns' targeting unemployed women, including career-interrupted women.

To provide work experience and support employment for unemployed women, the province is conducting the Saeil Women Intern project through nine Women New Work Centers in the region.

The Saeil Women Intern project supports career-interrupted women who have been away from the workplace for a long time due to marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, etc., or unemployed women who have never engaged in economic activities, by providing corporate work experience and support for conversion to regular employment.

Unemployed women and companies wishing to participate in the project register for job seeking or recruitment at the Saeil Center, and customized counseling is provided to job seekers while interns are connected to companies.

Eligibility for internship participation is unemployed women registered as job seekers at the Saeil Center, with priority given to vulnerable groups such as low-income women, marriage immigrant women, and long-term unemployed women.

Participating companies must meet the following criteria: ▲enrollment in the four major social insurances ▲having 5 to fewer than 1,000 regular employees ▲full-time with weekly working hours of 35 or more, or part-time with weekly working hours between 20 and less than 35.

The province plans to provide up to 900,000 KRW to Saeil Women Intern participants and up to 3,500,000 KRW to participating companies as support funds.

Companies hiring Saeil Women Interns will receive an internship hiring support fund of 800,000 KRW per month for three months, totaling 2,400,000 KRW, and if the intern is converted to a permanent or regular position and employed for more than three months after the internship period, the province will give an employment incentive of 300,000 KRW each to the company and the intern.

Additionally, if employment is maintained for another three months, the company will receive a Saeil Employment Incentive of 800,000 KRW and the intern will receive a continuous service incentive of 600,000 KRW.

Women and companies wishing to participate can register for job seeking or recruitment at the New Work Centers in the province. For more details, visit the local New Work Center website or contact the Saeil Center by phone for guidance.

Kim Hyun-mi, Director of the Women's Policy Division, said, “This project is like a primer that connects unemployed women to jobs through customized employment support and opens opportunities for women to continue working.” She added, “Since additional project funds are provided to companies and participants, we hope many job-seeking women and recruiting companies in the province will participate.”
