The Presidential Transition Committee announced on the 18th that the announcement of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's real estate measures, originally scheduled for this week, will be significantly delayed.

Shin Yong-hyun, the committee spokesperson, said at a briefing held at the Transition Committee press conference in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, in the afternoon, "At today's full meeting, there was a discussion to adjust the timing to after the confirmation hearings of the ministerial candidates in order to avoid confusion regarding real estate policies."

Won Il-hee, the senior deputy spokesperson of the committee, said at a subsequent briefing, "The real estate policies discussed by the Transition Committee's real estate task force (TF) have been largely organized," but added, "the committee is considering internally whether to announce the measures at the committee level or to orderly implement them after the new government takes office."

Since the confirmation hearings for Chu Kyung-ho, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance candidate coordinating real estate policies within the committee, and Won Hee-ryong, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport candidate, are scheduled to be held soon, it is reported that the opinion to postpone the announcement of real estate policies at the committee level has emerged to prevent overlapping messages.

Senior Deputy Spokesperson Won said, "the two candidates are expected to submit their written responses to the National Assembly as early as this weekend, and during the Q&A sessions of the hearings, their personal views and policies on the new government's real estate policies will naturally be announced," adding, "the committee explained that there is concern about the possibility of market confusion due to overlapping messages being delivered to the real estate market through this process."

Senior Deputy Spokesperson Won explained that the timing for the real estate policy announcement has not yet been decided but is likely to be after the new government takes office. He said, "there is a strong opinion that the comprehensive conclusion of the real estate policies organized by the committee should be announced by the new government," and added, "expectations and forecasts that the announcement would be made starting this week will be revised."

Earlier, Ahn Cheol-soo, the chairman of the Transition Committee, also said at a press conference commemorating the one-month launch of the committee in the morning, "The ministerial hearings are a place for the candidates to express their thoughts or convictions related to real estate," and "there will be a separate occasion to announce the government's real estate policies."

Chairman Ahn's remarks corrected what candidate Won stated at the committee's full meeting that morning, saying, "The Transition Committee's real estate TF is smoothly reviewing policies, and the announcements will be made externally during the confirmation hearings of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport ministers."
