Global Corporations and Venture Capitalists Participate in Large Scale
Startup Recruitment Begins from the 20th

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The Korea International Trade Association announced on the 18th that it is recruiting startups to participate in the ‘2022 NextRise Open Innovation Meetup’ jointly with KDB Industrial Bank.

This program, an open innovation business event of ‘NextRise,’ Asia’s largest startup fair held in mid-June, will be attended by about 200 domestic and international large corporations and venture capital firms from innovative industries such as food tech, energy, bio, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and mobility.

Already, 22 top global companies including Volkswagen, Pepsi, and Airbus, as well as 18 well-known venture capital firms, have expressed their intention to participate, and they will explore tech scouting and investment opportunities targeting domestic startups at the NextRise event.

The association plans to actively support networking through various methods such as online and offline meetups by discovering excellent startups that meet the collaboration demands of these large corporations and venture capital firms. Applications for participation are open from the 20th of this month to May 18th, and detailed information can be found on the NextRise website.

Park Pil-jae, head of the Startup Overseas Expansion Office at the Trade Association, said, “Many domestic startups are already contributing to service trade through overseas expansion,” adding, “We will strive to help NextRise, which has grown into Asia’s largest startup fair, further activate connections between domestic and international startups and become a win-win platform that accelerates business, investment, and innovation.”
