The ‘Residential Fire Alarm’ must be attached to the ceiling of each compartmented space such as bedrooms, living rooms, and kitchens in detached houses, multi-family houses, multiplex houses, and row houses, with at least one alarm per space. It sounds an alarm at the early stage of a fire to allow residents to evacuate quickly.

Additionally, the battery life is approximately 10 years, and regular checks can be made by pressing the operation test button to confirm whether it is working.

Kim Gwan-ho, Head of the Prevention and Safety Division, said, “In the case of house fires without separate firefighting facilities, many casualties and property damage can occur when a fire breaks out,” and added, “We hope that every household installs fire alarms to protect precious lives and property.”
