[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] SK Telecom's content technology 'Supernova,' which remasters old videos using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, is expanding overseas.
On the 18th, SK Telecom announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for collaboration on remastered content business using the media quality improvement solution 'Supernova' with global media security solution company Verimatrix.
SK Telecom's Supernova is a solution that remasters old videos into the latest videos based on AI deep learning algorithms.
Through this cooperation, the two companies plan to remaster old content owned by overseas broadcasters or content producers using Supernova technology and release it to global markets such as South America, Europe, and Asia. They also plan to introduce real-time broadcasting dedicated solutions like Software as a Service (SaaS).
Kim Hyuk, head of SK Telecom's Global Media Support, said, "We hope to promote the excellence of Supernova, which has been verified domestically, to the world through this cooperation."
Gaiyer Bzondar, Vice President of Verimatrix, said, "We hope this cooperation will make the two companies good partners providing new experiences to global customers."
