Hankook Tire Obtains Global Information Security Certification 'TISAX'

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Hankook Tire & Technology announced on the 18th that it has been recognized for its security management system by the German Association of the Automotive Industry and has obtained the global information security certification 'TISAX' (Trusted Information Security Assessment eXchange).

Hankook Tire acquired the certification for all its domestic sites including the Pangyo headquarters 'Technoplex', the state-of-the-art high-tech research and development (R&D) center 'Hankook Technodome', Daejeon plant, Geumsan plant, as well as major overseas factories and headquarters, demonstrating its top-level security management capabilities.

TISAX is a global information security certification system created by the German Association of the Automotive Industry to standardize security evaluation criteria for automotive manufacturers worldwide. Based on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) ISO/IEC 27001, it evaluates security in four aspects: information security system, partner security system, data protection system, and prototype protection system.

As global automotive manufacturers increasingly demand strict security standards when selecting parts suppliers, TISAX has established itself as an essential certification for suppliers to global original equipment (OE) tire makers.

This certification is very stringent as it requires a comprehensive and long-term review of the company’s overall internal security management system, as well as on-site inspections and visual confirmations to ensure there are no non-compliance issues before it is granted.

With the acquisition of the TISAX certification, Hankook Tire has been recognized for redefining the security system that is becoming increasingly important in the automotive industry, proving its stable security level. Moving forward, the company plans to further strengthen its information protection management system and develop into a global company equipped not only with technological excellence but also with the highest level of security.
