[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 18th that it will enter the community-based non-fungible token (NFT) market. This is the first time in the global automotive industry to provide customers with various brand experiences.
The Hyundai NFT universe Metamobility Universe video released on this day aimed to express the Metamobility concept announced earlier this year at the 2022 CES electronics exhibition. According to the company, it depicts a world where innovative mobility experiences are possible across time and space.
In collaboration with the NFT character MetaKongs, Hyundai plans to issue 30 limited edition ‘Hyundai × MetaKongs Collaboration NFTs’ on the 20th. They will be sold at 1 Ethereum each through partner company communities and others. The proceeds from the Metamobility NFTs issued from May will be used for project operations and more. Hyundai also plans to establish a dedicated communication channel for owners of Hyundai NFTs to strengthen the NFT community base.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "Entering the community-based NFT market is another challenge to communicate with customers and provide diverse experiences."
