Hyundai Green Food Receives Prime Minister's Commendation for Excellence in Promoting Employment of Persons with Disabilities

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Hyundai Green Food, a comprehensive food company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 18th that it received the Prime Minister's Commendation for 'Government Awards for Promotion of Employment for Persons with Disabilities.'

Since 2016, Hyundai Green Food has been operating the 'Green Mate' program to support the hiring and working conditions of persons with disabilities. Through this, it provides systematic support to improve employment and working environments for disabled workers, including adjustments to working hours and customized welfare systems.

In particular, among the approximately 6,000 regular employees, the proportion of disabled workers is maintained at a high employment rate of 3.58% (as of June last year), and the ratio of severely disabled workers among all disabled employees reaches 80.3%. Furthermore, Hyundai Green Food is expanding employment roles for persons with disabilities beyond cooking assistant positions in group catering sites to include baristas in food courts and employee cafes within Hyundai Department Store.

A Hyundai Green Food official stated, “We will continue to contribute to improving awareness of persons with disabilities by expanding their employment and establishing various systems to improve working conditions.”
