[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Son Seonhee] The Statistics Korea announced on the 18th that it will conduct the '2022 First Half Regional Employment Survey' targeting 230,000 households nationwide from the 19th to May 4th.

This survey will be conducted through internet and telephone surveys (April 19th to April 27th) and face-to-face interviews (April 19th to May 4th). Respondent households can participate in the internet survey using the participation number provided in the internet participation guide sent by mail.

Through the 'Regional Employment Survey,' Statistics Korea produces various statistics that serve as the basis for employment policy formulation, such as employment rates and unemployment rates by city, county, and district. Among the survey contents, key employment indicators by city, county, and district will be announced in August, characteristics of employed persons by industry and occupation in October, and employment status of married women in November.

Ryu Geun-gwan, Commissioner of Statistics Korea, said, "All surveyed information is used solely for statistical compilation purposes under the Statistics Act, and confidentiality is strictly protected," adding, "We ask for the active participation and accurate responses of the households selected as samples."
